About Us

Allied Credit was established in 2010 to meet the demand from vehicle and equipment manufacturers, distributors, and dealership groups to provide branded retail and floorplan finance solutions.

The Company’s initial growth came from partnering with some of Australia’s biggest names in motorcycling, marine, and recreation vehicles. Since 2018, Allied Credit has successfully offered a range of finance solutions for the automotive industry. More recently, we further expanded our offering, entering the broker and novated leasing space.

Drawing on our experience and expertise, Allied Credit adopts an innovative approach to building and delivering finance solutions and products for distributors and their dealer networks, large multi-brand dealer groups, broker aggregators, and salary packagers.

Today, Allied Credit is a rapidly growing consumer and commercial finance business. Proudly, we have a 14+year track record of high-quality loan origination and have developed a series of significant and long-term partnerships.

As we grow, we continue to innovate to meet the differing and changing needs of our market. Our range of finance solutions now includes:

Our Board

Mal McHutchison

Non-Executive Chair

Mal is a highly accomplished executive and CEO with over 30 years’ experience in private equity and public markets.

Having successfully transitioned to non-executive directorships, he has served on Boards across the Business and Financial Services, Technology, and Education sectors, and is currently on the Board of ASX-listed Judo Bank.

Mal joined Allied Credit’s Board as a Non-Executive Director in July 2025, bringing extensive strategic expertise and governance skills. He was appointed Chair in November 2025.

Mal was previously CEO of the Modern Star Group, a position he held for 4.5 years, and before that CEO of Interactive, Australia’s largest privately owned IT Services business. He also led the Macquarie Capital Asset Management function, responsible for the operating performance of an $800m portfolio of equity investments across Australia, China, and New Zealand.

Mal holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Guy Fowler

Non-Executive Director

A financial markets veteran with over 30 years’ experience. 

Guy was instrumental in building and running the most successful investment banking franchise in Australia for over three decades. He built a track record of delivering some of the largest and most complex transactions for Australia’s corporate clients including large companies, institutions, banks and both Federal and State Governments.

He spent 27 years at UBS Australia in various roles including Head of Corporate Finance and Head of Equity Capital Markets. From March 2011, Guy was Head of the Australasian investment banking department at UBS Group AG and served as its Chair of Corporate Client Solutions Division. 

Guy is currently Executive Chair of Barrenjoey Capital Partners. He holds a Bachelor of Economics.

Justin Lewis

Non-Executive Director

An investment banking professional with a successful career in debt and equity capital markets and mergers & acquisitions.

Justin is a founding partner of Sturt Capital Partners, an independent principal investment and financial advisory firm founded in 2009. Prior to this he was an Executive Director in the Capital Markets Division at Allco Finance Group and in investment banking with NM Rothschild & Sons.

Justin Lewis has been a member of Allied Credit’s Board since 2014 and served as Chair between 2016 and 2025, playing a key role in the Company’s growth and governance during this time.

He currently serves on the Boards of MedCast Pty Ltd and Credabl Pty Ltd.

He holds a Diploma of Applied Finance and a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

James Hole

Non-Executive Director

James is a corporate strategy and transformation professional.

He is currently an Operating Partner at Bain Capital, where he works closely with portfolio companies to unlock value, drive growth initiatives, and build sustainable competitive advantages. His depth of experience across banking, consulting, and transformation enables him to partner meaningfully with leadership teams on complex challenges across sectors and markets.

Before Bain, James held senior positions at Westpac, where he led major strategic and transformation programs, and was at management consultancy Simon-Kucher & Partners, focusing on revenue strategy and growth. James holds an MBA from Stanford University and earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Science from the University of Sydney.

Richard Harding

Executive Director

A finance company executive with over 35 years’ experience in the Australian and North American markets.

Richard has extensive vendor-based lending experience in the automotive, recreation and IT industries, and through his career has founded and managed large and small finance companies.  

Richard founded Allied Credit in 2010 and was Managing Director until 2019.  Previously a Senior VP in AT&T Capital (Canada), he built NCR Credit (Canada) and founded Newcourt Credit in Australia (became CIT and now part of BoQ Finance); Yamaha Motor Finance; and Fundcorp (sold to Macquarie Bank).

Richard holds a Bachelor of Engineering (NZ) and an MBA (USA)

Phil Green

Non-Executive Director

Phil Green has over 30 years of experience specialising in structured finance and advisory, leasing, asset-based financing, principal investment and funds management.

Phil has extensive expertise in property, financial assets, infrastructure and other forms of asset backed finance including aircraft, rail and mortgages.

Prior to joining Alceon, Phil was a partner of Babcock & Brown for 24 years and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on its listing in 2004. Before joining Babcock & Brown he worked for Arthur Andersen specialising in taxation, cross border leasing and structured finance.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of NSW, is a Chartered Accountant and was admitted as a solicitor in NSW in 1978.

Jon Moodie

Chief Executive Officer

An experienced asset and vehicle finance business leader.

Jon has over 30 years’ experience building businesses in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

He spent over 13 years at Macquarie Leasing, initially leading various sales channels then as Managing Director for 5 years where he led the business to become one of the largest vehicle and asset financiers in Australia. Prior, Jon established and grew Mercedes Benz Finance NZ before transferring to Daimler Finance Australia where he first led the Fleet Management Business followed by the Sales and Marketing team.

Jon Moodie

Chief Executive Officer

Prior, Jon established and grew Mercedes Benz Finance NZ before transferring to Daimler Finance Australia where he first led the Fleet Management Business followed by the Sales and Marketing team.

Russell Bryant

Chief Partnerships & Sales Officer

An accomplished strategic and enterprising leader with experience in Australia and Asia.

Russell has more than 30 years’ banking and finance industry experience spanning operational, customer facing, internal and industry influencing roles.

Russell joined Allied Credit in 2019. Previously he worked at ANZ (Retail Banking, Esanda and Retail Asset Finance – Asia) and Macquarie where he delivered agile business transformations and led operational and business development teams.

He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting & Business/Management) and a Graduate Certificate (Banking law and lending practice) and attained his CPA accreditation.

David Hannah

Chief Risk Officer

An internationally experienced business executive with a track record of developing strong business relationships, delivering results, managing risk and executing major strategic change.

David has over 40 years’ commercial and international experience in independent and captive automotive finance, asset finance aggregation, consumer and business finance and banking, automotive distribution and the accountancy profession.

David holds a Bachelor of Science and is a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Padraig Walshe

Chief Operating Officer

Padraig is an experienced financial services leader with nearly 20 years in the industry. He brings deep expertise in credit risk, operational excellence, and large-scale process improvements and transformation.

Before joining Allied in 2021, he held senior leadership roles at Macquarie Leasing across Customer Operations, Credit Risk, and Retail Lending, developing deep expertise in operational strategy, credit processes, and customer experience.

He holds an Honours BA in Social & Political Science from the University of Galway and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Glasgow.

Matt Devine

Chief Financial Officer

A senior finance leader with over 25 years’ local and international experience in audit, financial services, strategy and operations.

Matt previously worked in senior finance roles for Merrill Lynch and Nomura in London, before moving to Deutsche Bank in Australia.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Accounting) and is an FCA with the ICAEW.

Frank Ruscio

Chief Information Officer

Frank is a seasoned CIO with global experience delivering enterprise-wide IT transformations, digital innovation, and cyber maturity strategies.

Prior to joining Allied Credit in October 2025, Frank consulted to private and ASX-listed companies on intelligent automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. He has held various leadership and executive technology roles for leading financial services organisations including CIO (Australia and Asia-Pacific) for Toyota Finance and CIO (UK) for IAG.

Frank holds a Graduate Diploma in Management from Macquarie Business School.

Wendy Trigg

Chief People Officer

Wendy has over 25 years’ experience, predominantly working in financial and professional services.

Her skills span strategy development, transformation delivery, finance and operational leadership, and leading programs that transform culture and the way services are delivered to stakeholders.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
